White House launches app touting Trump’s record, with key omissions

The White House on Friday launched a smartphone app that highlights a selection of President Donald Trump’s second-term accomplishments and curates positive news articles.

It also invites users to report tips to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

APPLICATION will provide updates “Straight from the source, unfiltered” on the Trump administration White House said In a message describing the implementation in X.

This comes after the White House shared a series of short, cryptic videos on its official social media channels that hinted at an imminent announcement but offered little context.

The app’s home page includes a box with information about Trump’s policy priorities and accomplishments in office. Both direct viewers to existing pages on the official White House website.

At the bottom of the “Social” tab is a button that allows users to submit tips to ICE. The button links to the tip form on ICE’s official site.

Another page of the app focuses on affordability, a major issue for Americans since the Covid-19 pandemic that has become even more urgent in Trump’s first year in office.

The app shows a handful of staples—eggs, milk, bread, butter, and potatoes—and tells you how much the cost of those items has fallen year over year. The listed price of each item appears to correspond to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

Some items are more specific than they appear in the app: For example, the price per gallon and year-over-year decline listed for “Milk” align with federal data for low-fat, reduced-fat, and milk. skimmed milkin its place whole milkfell by a smaller percentage during the same period.

The application does not mention many other products that increased last year, including ground meat, coffee and orange juice.
