White House on Modi–Trump Phone Call

Washington DC: US President Donald Trump shares a strong relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Friday (local time) and described the recent interaction between the two leaders as “productive”.
Response to ANI’s question regarding a report New York TimesClaiming that Tesla CEO Elon Musk participated in the phone call between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump on Tuesday, Leavitt said, “President Trump has a great relationship with Prime Minister Modi and this was a productive meeting.”
Before New York Times Musk reportedly attended the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump.
According to the report, Musk’s participation marks an unusual instance of an ordinary citizen participating in a conversation between two heads of state amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Citing two US officials, the report said Musk’s involvement marked a marked improvement in his relationship with Trump.
This development follows a dispute between Trump and Musk last summer after the tech billionaire left his government post, where he was tasked with reducing the federal workforce through the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
However, according to the report, recent interactions suggest that ties between Musk and the US President have since stabilized.
Earlier on Tuesday, as global efforts to secure vital energy corridors intensified, Prime Minister Modi held a high-level phone call with President Trump to discuss the prevailing conflict in West Asia.
The dialogue is coming to a critical juncture as regional tensions continue to impact global energy markets and maritime security.
In a post on channel X, Prime Minister Modi said both sides called for the Strait of Hormuz to be “open, safe and accessible” and reiterated India’s stance on de-escalation and peace in the region.
“We received a call from President Trump and had a useful exchange of views on the situation in West Asia. India supports de-escalation and restoration of peace as soon as possible. Ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, safe and accessible is vital for the entire world. We agreed to stay in touch on efforts towards peace and stability,” the Prime Minister said.
