Cholapuram in Gangaikon: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the construction of large sculptures of iconic Chola emperors Rajaraja Chola and son Ragendra Chola I in Tamil Nadu.
The Prime Minister addressed the Aadi Thiruvathirai Festival to mark and honor the anniversary of Rajendra Chola-i, and said that these sculptures will serve as modern columns of the historical consciousness of India. The festival also commemorates the construction of the Temple of Cholapuram in Gangaikonda, a magnificent example of Rajendra Chola’s legendary maritime expedition to South East Asia and a magnificent example of Chola architecture.
The Prime Minister said: “The economic and military heights that India reached during the Chola period continue to inspire us even today. Rajaraja Chola has built a strong navy strengthened by Rajendra Chola.”
Onur for iconic Tamil Kings, Modi’s Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Tamil Classic Thirukkural’s translations, including a few Tamil -centered attempts. In 2019, at the UN General Assembly, Modi called Tamil poet Kaniyan Ponundranar and stated the popular ‘life ore’ verse that underlines the union.
After praying at the Temple of Brahadeeswara here, Modi published a souvenir money that honored Rajendra Chola-ı. Listening to the interpretation of spiritual hymns by Odhuvamurthys (Saivite Gurus) and listening to a Shiva-Chant concert of Maestro Ilaiyaraja, the Prime Minister said that the spiritual atmosphere has deeply moved the spirit.
Among the manifestations of Vedik and Saivite Thirumurai, Modi prayed at the Lord Shiva Temple. On his arrival, the Prime Minister was taken by the traditional temple honors “Poorana Kumbham” and the temple priests. Modi said: “Our Shaivite tradition played a vital role in shaping India’s cultural identity. Chola emperors were the key architects of this heritage. Even today, Tamil Nadu continues to be one of the most important centers in which this living tradition continues to develop.”
“Rajaraja Chola and Rajendra Chola’s legacy is synonymous with India’s identity and pride,” he said. The Prime Minister thinks that historians are among the golden times of India, a period of Chola, a period of military power.
The Chola Empire developed the democratic traditions of India, which often overlooked in global narratives. When historians talked about England’s Magna Carta in the context of democracy, the Chola Empire applied democratic election practices through the Jerusalem System centuries ago.
He emphasized that global discourse is often focused on the protection of water management and ecology, and that India’s ancestors understood the importance of these problems a long time ago. Many kings were remembered for receiving gold, silver or animal husbandry from other regions, while Rajendra Chola was known for bringing the holy Ganga juice.
The Prime Minister remembered that Rajendra Chola was carrying Ganga water from North India and founded it in the south. “Ganga Jalayamam Jayastambham”, who explained that the water is now directed to Lake Chola Ganga, known as Ponner Lake, referred to the phrase.
Rajendra Chola founded the Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, which continues to be known as an architectural curiosity globally. The Prime Minister said that the celebration of Ganga on the main caviari territory was a legacy of the Chola Empire. In memory of this historical episode, the Prime Minister said that Ganga Water was once again brought from Kashi to Tamil Nadu and an official ritual was made on the field.
As a representative chosen from Kashi, Prime Minister Ana Ganga shared his deep emotional connection with Ganga. He said that the efforts and programs associated with Chola Kings look like a sacred effort of “Ekle Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and gave the initiative a new and new acceleration.
The Prime Minister said: “Chola emperors have attributed India to a cultural unity. Today, our government takes the same vision of the Chola period.
When the new Parliament building was opened in May 2023, the Prime Minister remembered that Shaivite Adheenams ruled the ceremony spiritually. The holy Sengol, which dates back to Tamil culture, was founded in a ceremony for the new parliament. The Prime Minister also remembered that an idol of Lord Nataraja adorned Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, where global leaders gathered during the G-20 summit in 2023.
India’s legacy and the influence of Shaiva philosophy are no longer limited to its geographical limits. When India became the first country to go down to the south pole of the moon, it was called “Shiv-Shakti” and said it was globally known. Previously, Prime Minister visited an exhibition on Chola Shaivism and architecture by India’s archeology research.
In an article about ‘X’, the Prime Minister, Shaiva Siddhanta & Chola temple arts, a very good exhibition, exhibiting the magnitude of the history, culture and spiritual size of the history, culture and spiritual size. Cholapuram in the Gangaikon in Ariyalur region is close to Kumbakonam in the Cauvery Delta area of Tamil Nadu. In Gangaikonda Cholapuram, PM Modi praised the rich heritage of the Chola Empire, explained the statues of Rajaraja and Rajendra Chola and attached its contributions to the unit and heritage of India.
