The situation outside the prison is reportedly tense. Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s sons Qasim and Sulaiman also claimed in an interview that their father was put on a “death row”.
Meanwhile, the protests also spread to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK); where thousands of people took to the streets in Rawalkot to protest power outages, internet blackouts and ongoing exploitation.
Reports indicate that a large percentage of the electricity generated by POK is supplied to Pakistan, with only a small portion allocated for local use.
India condemned Pakistan’s actions on the international front. Harish Parvathneni, India’s ambassador to the United Nations Security Council, called the ongoing situation a “constitutional coup”, highlighting Pakistan’s internal turmoil and the consequences of its support for terrorism.
