A sheriff in Florida has labeled a fight involving a worker and two customers at a McDonald’s in Polk County last weekend a “McMess” after one of the men suffered a minor gunshot wound to the neck.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd explained in a video posted on social media: McDonald’s Following various events taking place in the area early Sunday morning, the area was flooded with online orders.

Judd said worker Yoan Soto, 21, “politely” said to Nicholas Jones, 18, and Peter Story, 20, who were working the drive-thru: “‘Hey, sorry guys, we’re so behind, we’re being overwhelmed by our online orders.'”

He said after Soto told the two men that the store could not take his orders, they allegedly began threatening him.

“‘We’ll hang out here,’ they allegedly said. “‘We’ll beat you up when you get off.’ They threatened to attack the man who had just told them, ‘We’re busy, we can’t take any more orders,’ and he did it because the manager told him to. “They threatened to use violence.”

Soto told the men he didn’t leave work until 4 a.m. and went back to work.

“What are these stupid kissers doing?” Judd went on to add that Jones and Story then parked and entered the restaurant.

“And they continue to threaten,” he said. “They’re having a McArgument at McDonald’s because of McHamburgers, or lack thereof.”

He said Story or Jones said they had a “key,” a “30-round magazine,” and Soto said he had a gun.

He said the principal stepped between the three men to stop “McRabble.”

“So they continue to threaten a mass shooting because there are customers there with firearms,” Judd said, adding that Soto went to get his gun and threatened Jones and Story with a gun in the main part of the store.

The manager of the McDonald’s told Story and Jones to leave because they were trespassing, but Jones claimed that only law enforcement could declare trespassing, and Judd explained that was not the case.

As the two men tried to grab Soto’s gun, Soto pulled the trigger and shot Story in the neck, Judd said.

“It’s a blessing that it’s such a small wound, but you know what? Once you start shooting McGuns, you’re going to get people’s attention and they’re going to let you give the restaurant over to McHave, and that’s what they do,” Judd said.

Jones then took Story to the hospital and called the police.

Soto fled the scene but was called back to the restaurant when deputies arrived, he explained, adding that Soto cooperated and was charged with tampering with evidence.

Story and Jones were charged with trespassing after warning and disorderly conduct.

“Listen, folks, threatening mass murder is never acceptable. Threatening to beat people up in a workplace is never acceptable. It’s also never acceptable to grab your ammunition and firearm and run away after a shooting,” Judd said.

He added that Soto has the right to stand on his own two feet and protect himself, “and these guys are already threatening outside the store and threatening violence once they get inside.”

“They created justified fear in him and the store manager,” he said. “It was just a McMess. But we’ll figure it out, because we’re McGood investigating McCrime.”
