A one-year-old girl dies after being struck by a train

A one-year-old girl has died after being struck by a freight train in northern NSW.
The boy was hit by a train while walking along the road in Baan Baa, near Narrabri, on Friday.
Emergency services attended about 7.50pm and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the baby for serious injuries before he was taken to hospital.
The 1-year-old child died in the hospital.
The 22-year-old train driver was uninjured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
The crime scene has been established and a report will be prepared for the coroner’s information.
