According to local media reports, this was Mayor Milei’s fourth strike in his term. Due to the strike, public transportation, including metro and bus lines, were affected.
According to Al Jazeera, state airline Aerolineas Argentinas also expected 255 flights to be canceled and millions of dollars in losses.

Apart from transportation systems, banks and schools also remained closed to show solidarity with the workers’ strike.
What does Argentina’s new proposed labor law contain?
According to Al Jazeera, the labor reform bill introduces provisions that will make it easier for companies to fire workers and reduce severance pay.
The bill also proposes to increase the working day from 8 hours to 12 hours.
The report also stated that the government said the proposed measures were important in attracting foreign investment to the country and further increasing profitability.
Buenos Aires is reportedly struggling with economic tensions, and these reforms are expected to face opposition in the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, a version of the labor bill has already passed the Argentine Senate, and if the House of Representatives changes the law, the reforms will have to go to the Senate for a final vote, Al Jazeera reported.
