Silver hits record Rs 3 lakh/kg on MCX as Trump’s tariff threat stokes market anxiety

Silver on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) crossed the Rs 3 lakh per kilogram mark for the first time and the contract reached Rs 3,01,315/kg. It is currently trading around ₹3,00,479/kg and is registering an increase of around 4% on the day. The rise came as US President Donald Trump threatened 10 percent tariffs on eight European countries, sending investors into precious metals amid geopolitical tensions.
