Airline posts $1.46 billion half-year profit
Qantas made a half-year pre-tax profit of $1.46 billion, helped by strong demand and stable costs.
The result was up $71 million from the previous half, as the airline was supported by strong consumer demand for travel and reasonable fuel prices.
The airline’s earnings were helped by the delivery of new, more efficient aircraft, strong consumer appetite for Qantas loyalty points and strong earnings from Jetstar.
“We are already seeing the benefits of next-generation aircraft flying alongside strong demand, our dual brand strategy and expanding Loyalty business,” said Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson.
