Will Give Appropriate Response: Kabul Condemns Pakistan’s Attack On Afghan Territory | World News

Kabul on Tuesday strongly condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghanistan’s Pktika, Khost and Kunar provinces, terming them as a violation of the country’s sovereignty and violation of all internationally recognized norms.

According to the Afghan government, at least 10 civilians, including nine children, were killed when Pakistani forces struck a residential area in Khost, while four civilians were injured in separate airstrikes in Kunar and Pktika.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the caretaker Afghan government, emphasized on the social media platform that the necessary reaction will be taken at the appropriate time.

“These hostile actions by Pakistani forces achieve nothing; they only prove that operations driven by faulty intelligence have escalated tensions and exposed the ongoing failures of the Pakistani military regime,” he added.

The Afghan spokesman also stated that Kabul has the right to defend its territory and that “the appropriate response will be given at the appropriate time.”

Mujahid said, “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strongly condemns this violation and criminal act in the strongest terms and once again clarifies its air and land borders. And it considers the defense of its nation as its legitimate religious right and an appropriate response will be given at the appropriate time.” he said.

The attack took place shortly after midnight and targeted the home of a local man, authorities said, reigniting concerns about escalating hostilities along the border.

Mujahid stated that the attack took place around 12:00 on Tuesday in the Mughalgai region of Gurbuz district of Khost.

In his post on channel X, he said, “Pakistani occupying forces bombed the house of a local civilian named Veliat Khan, son of Qazi Mir. As a result, nine children (five boys and four girls) and one woman were martyred and his house was destroyed.”

Confirming that separate airstrikes were carried out on the same night, Mujahid said, “Airstrikes were also carried out in Kunar and Potika and 4 civilians were injured here.”

The latest strike in Afghan provinces has raised fears of a new cycle of violence as tensions rise once again in the volatile border region. This follows a brief lull in cross-border violence between the two neighbors following intense clashes in October.
