Will make A.P. drought-proof through best water management system, says Naidu

Prime Minister N. Chandrabababu Naidu promised to turn Andhra Pradesh into a drought -resistant situation through a technology -based water management system.
Emphasizing that development is only possible with the presence of water, he called on to adopt a ‘a state-a water’ policy and to expand the full cooperation for the internal connection.
Speaking in the parliament during a discussion on irrigation, the Prime Minister said that the flood waters of thousands of TMCs from the Rivers of Godavari and the Krishna rivers flow into waste each year. Polavaram project will be completed between the Veligonda project until July 2027, July 2026 and all other irrigation projects in Rayalaseema and North andhra in two years, adding that we can use to ensure water security for all regions by connecting rivers.
Recalling the efforts to bring Krishna Waters to Kuppam through the Handri-Neeva project by completing 738 km channel, Mr. Naidu said he was pleased with success.
The Prime Minister said this year, despite the rainfall deficit this year, the groundwater levels were healed and 94% of large and small reservoirs were filled and the unified 1,040 TMC water. The groundwater reserves are currently standing at 697 TMC and soil moisture holding capacity has increased to 84%.
Mr. Naidu praised the state for led the internal connection and drop irrigation. The authority said that his government had already spent 12,000 crore for irrigation within a year and that he would allocate 60,000 crore in the next five years.
Referring to the Polavaram project, he remembered that the TDP government completed 72% of the work until 2019, but the neglect under the previous regime caused the collapse of the diaphragm wall. “Now, 1000 crore is spent to rebuild the wall that will be ready until December 2025,” he said.
