William and Kate visit Southport schools to show support for families of knife attack victims

The prince and princess of Wales visited two schools attended by children killed in the Southport attack last year.
The royal couple also met with the parents of 7 -year -old sacrifice Elsie Dot Stancombe, a 7 -year -old student at Farnborough Road Bebek and Junior School.
Elsie was killed in July 2024 in a Taylor Swift -themed dance class, two young girls Alice da Silva Aguiar and Bebe King, 6.
At that time, 18 -year -old Axel Rudakubana was injured in eight children and two adults during a knife attack.
The couple, who visited Churchtown Primary School, attended by Alice and Bebe, was shown around a new playground built in their memoirs after a donation collection campaign.
In a speech in front of the 700 students of the school, William said, “This playground is a symbol of how the community came together to create such a positive space for the students of this school, a symbol of commemoration and flexibility, and a proof that love will always overcome the tragedy.”
He said that the teaching communities at Elsie’s school, which they visited in the school and the early hours of the day, went upstairs and beyond to help improve this incredible group ”.
“Alex and Sergio, Lauren and I, Jenni and David – you have combined with grief. You have encountered such horror, but after that, you are moving with grace and Fortitude by creating the most remarkable legacies for your daughters. We will always be here to support you.”
After hearing how some children speak about how the work of art reflect the feelings, Kate said: “It is very unusual for young people to express bad and difficult and difficult emotions as you do, and in fact it is really smart but really impressive.”
William and Kate also spent more than an hour at the Farnborough Road School and Elsie’s old parents Jenni, 36 and David Stancombe, 37 to 30 minutes.
They also talked to the managers about how the school and students have dealt with since the attack.
After the attack had a destructive impact on the community, the school principals thanked the royal couple for showing solidarity for a year.
“This has made a huge difference, Jen said Jennie Sephton, President of the School of Babies.
When he arrived at school, the royal couple was welcomed by hundreds of children, shaking union flags with excitement. Both Royals spoke to the members of the student council, and William crouched to talk to dolls as I talked to young people.
The children were surprised a few minutes ago, which were said to visit their schools.
10 -year -old Ellis Paynter said: “We are shocked!” We are talking to the prince? ” I was like.
10 -year -old Jessica Hazelhurst said: “Not all teachers could not learn until the time. We all thought that we took photos for the school council, but that was that time.”
Today’s royal appearance, William and Kate’s second visit to Southport, previously visited the attack and then the rebellions.
During a visit in October last year, they met their families and hugged them and also thanked the emergency services that responded to the attack.
The trip, which was not heard to Merseyside last year, has been the first official trip of William and Kate since the end of the chemotherapy treatment of the Wales Princess.
