William, Kate ‘deeply concerned’ by Epstein files

Britain’s Prince William and Princess Kate made their first statement on the issue, saying they were “deeply concerned” by the revelations in the files regarding the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: “I can confirm that the Prince and Princess are deeply concerned by the ongoing revelations. Their thoughts are focused on the victims.”

The statement, released ahead of William’s three-day trip to Saudi Arabia starting on Monday, is part of the British monarchy’s response to the escalating crisis surrounding former prince Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles in October following earlier revelations about his relationship with Epstein. King III. Charles’ brother, 65, is now known only as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The king last week forced Mountbatten-Windsor to leave her longtime home at Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle, accelerating a move first announced in October but not expected to be completed until later this year.

Mountbatten-Windsor currently lives on the King’s Sandringham estate in eastern England. He will live temporarily at Wood Farm Cottage while his permanent home on the site is being repaired.

Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in her relationship with Epstein.
