Addressing scholars, diplomats, and students, he outlined Kazakhstan’s vision for restoring global strategic trust amid rising geopolitical turbulence and proposed new avenues for strengthening multilateral cooperation, reported the Akorda.

“I see this opportunity as a sign of genuine confidence in Kazakhstan’s growing international role and recognition of our continuous efforts to advance multilateralism and maintain global stability,” he said.

Tokayev also warned that the world is facing the highest level of conflict in recent years.
“Global military spending reached a record $2.7 trillion last year, as the number and intensity of armed conflicts around the world reached their highest point in decades,” he said.

According to Tokayev, the deepening competition between great powers has made the UN Security Council unable to resolve large-scale conflicts.
