Infosys partners with AWS to accelerate Gen AI adoption — All you need to know
Bengaluru-based software giant Infosys on Wednesday announced a deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate enterprise adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI).
In a filing to the stock exchange on January 7, the IT company announced the strategic partnership, saying it will combine Infosys Topaz with Amazon Q Developer.
The deal comes at a time when IT and software companies are increasingly focusing on the transition to artificial intelligence and investing millions to accelerate growth in the sector.
Infosys Topaz is a set of AI-first services, solutions and platforms that leverage generative artificial intelligence (gen AI) technologies. Amazon Q Developer, on the other hand, is AWS’s AI-powered productive assistant.
Shares of Infosys rose on the news of the partnership and rose over 1.5% on the BSE. ₹1635.60 on BSE.
Why did Infosys partner with AWS?
The strategic partnership between Infosys and AWS is aimed at improving the IT company’s internal operations as well as driving innovation for the firm’s customers in sectors such as manufacturing, telecom, financial services and consumer goods.
“Infosys leverages the power of Infosys Topaz to drive AI-powered transformations across core functions such as software development, HR, recruiting, sales and vendor management,” Infosys said.

To give an example, in the e Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) segment, the company said Infosys Topaz and Amazon Q Developer enable automated documentation and significantly improve workflow efficiency and accuracy by providing specialized support for tasks such as code creation, debugging, testing, and legacy code modernization.
Through this strategic partnership, Infosys is integrating advanced AI capabilities to streamline complex tasks, accelerate project timelines, and improve employee experiences while increasing productivity.
Infosys also leverages AWS generative AI services to deliver cutting-edge solutions to its customers across diverse industries.
These include advanced end-user engagement features for sports and entertainment, powered by Infosys Topaz and Amazon Bedrock, that deliver dynamic, real-time personalized experiences to increase engagement for millions of fans around the world.
