Woman killed by falling tree branch ‘while walking with child’ in country park
After being shot by a branch falling in a park, a young woman died.
The woman in her 30s hit the branch near the Bungal Lane entrance of the Blackburn Witton Country Park Lane right after 20:30 on Monday.
According to the Lancashire police, the medical officials ran to the park shortly after they were shot, but soon died.
According to local reports, the woman was walking with a child at the time.
Bir Lancashire Police Spokesman: ık We were called to Blackburn, Witton Park, Preston Old Road and Blackburn, reporting that a woman was shot by a falling tree branch.
“Emergency services joined and found the woman unresponsive. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he died tragically at the scene.
“He does not treat death as a suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner on time.”
A Council statement said: “Darwen District Council and Blackburn was deeply upset to verify that he died tragically after an incident when a large tree branch fell in Witton Park yesterday.”
The Witton Country Park is a 480 -acre mixed forest, park area and agricultural land and is on the west of Blackburn.
The property once built and built in Witton House (1800-1946) belonging to the living Feilden family and also formed the park.
From 1900 onwards, the house was empty for a long time and during both world wars, the army was used by the army.
Witton House was destroyed in 1952 after being sold to Blackburn Corporation in 1946. The Witton land, which consists of 485 acres, was included in this sale.
