Woman kills husband, following altercation over prolonged mobile usage in Andhra’s ASR district

A 35-year-old housewife allegedly killed her husband following an argument over excessive use of a mobile phone in Meduru village of Lothugedda Panchayat under Annavaram police station limits in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The deceased was identified as Korra Raja Rao (42) from Meturu village.

According to Annavaram Sub-Inspector G. Veera Babu, Mr. Raja Rao was reportedly often involved in arguments with his wife due to long phone calls. He would accuse his wife of using the phone too much, neglecting housework, and not taking enough care of her children.

On December 8, 2025, the couple fell asleep after another argument. Late that night, the woman allegedly attacked her husband with an axe. He was first admitted to a local hospital and later shifted to King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning (December 10, 2025). Annavaram police registered a case. The accused woman has not been detained yet.
