Woman Kills Husband in Khammam for Insurance Amount; 4 Held

Hyderabad: A woman and her three friends were arrested by Khammam police to claim insurance money in connection with the murder of her husband.
The murder came to light after police found an unidentified body on the Khammam-Kuravi main road near MV Palem. Police later identified the body as that of Chaganti Ravi (42), a rickshaw driver and resident of Gandhinagar in Khammam.
Police said Ravi was married to Prashanti 20 years ago and the couple had two children. However, Ravi fell ill after becoming addicted to alcohol. Ravi would return home drunk and torture her often.
When Ravi fell ill, Prashanti took advantage of the insurance facility on Ravi’s behalf. Realizing that Ravi was going to die, she took help from her husband’s relative D Srinivas to eliminate him. According to their plan, they forced Ravi to drink alcohol on March 2.
They then left him at the foot of MV Palem and left. While Ravi was standing on the road, Prashanti’s partner J Rajkumar hit him with a car at high speed, killing him. The police detained a total of 4 people regarding the incident.
Ravi’s relatives suspected Prashanti and filed a complaint with the police.
