Woman, Son Found Dead In Pond

KAKINADA: A woman and her 3-year-old son were found dead in a pond in Kakarapalli village of Kotananduru mandal of Kakinada district on Monday.

According to G. Chenna Kesava Rao, the deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Vodicherla Bhagya Lakshmi and her 3-year-old son Sai Ishan, residents of Peddaboddupalli village in Narsipatnam mandal.

Police suspect that the woman died by suicide along with her son after leaving her home on Sunday. The officer said Bhagya Lakshmi had married government teacher Vodicherla Durga Prasad three years ago and was reportedly facing marital problems.

Following a complaint by her mother Nelli Ratnam, Kotananduru police registered a case against the woman’s husband and father-in-law.
