London bus driver, 64, dies ‘after being attacked while working’: Man, 32, is charged

A murder investigation was launched in London when it was reported that a bus driver was attacked on the job and died the next day.
Police were called to reports of an incident on Battersea Bridge just after midnight on Monday.
On arrival at the scene, officers had to administer emergency first aid to the 64-year-old before the Transport for London worker was taken to hospital by the London Air Ambulance.
However, the driver, who can now be named Sergei Krajev, unfortunately died on Tuesday due to his injuries.
Gary Jones, 32, of Twickenham, was arrested at the scene and charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until his next hearing at Kingston Crown Court on June 15.
Sergei’s family said at the memorial: ‘We feel lucky to have such a wonderful husband, father and grandfather in our lives.
‘He was a thoughtful, tactful and conscientious person who cared about those around him.
