Police revealed a Utah mother frantically and desperately called 911 just before her husband opened fire on the entire family.
According to the information provided by the authorities, 61-year-old Kaylene Allred was killed and her two children were injured in the attack carried out by 64-year-old Floyal Allred. Allred made the call just after 10:30 p.m. on March 31. As he spoke to the operator, gunshots were heard in the background and Allred’s screams could be heard.
Just seconds later, the operator listened in horror as more shots were fired and the woman on the other end of the line fell silent.
Unified Police Department PIO Sgt. Aymee Race told People that the woman reported a domestic dispute between the stepfather and son. He informed them that there were “gun threats” and that alcohol and drugs were involved.
When officers arrived at the family home in Kearns, Allred’s 30-year-old son Christian reportedly ran out of the house and told officers that he, his mother and his 37-year-old sister Brittany had been shot.

The two brothers were taken to a nearby hospital. As of Tuesday, both were reported to be in stable condition. Unfortunately, their mother did not survive her injuries. Their stepfather also ended his life by turning the gun on himself.
Police confirmed they had previously attended the family’s home following reports of “non-violent domestic violence incidents”. A GoFundMe fundraiser was set up in Allred’s honor, with the page describing her as “a dear friend and colleague who brought warmth and kindness to everyone she met.”
Friends of the deceased mother-of-two said she had worked at the Sapp Bros travel stop for 25 years and was a valued pillar of the local community.
His colleague Angela Simister told the press that she was aware of the difficulties the couple was going through, but she never expected such a tragic outcome.

“I’ve worked with him for 25 years, and it breaks my heart every time I go to work and he’s not there,” Simister said. “He deserved much better. He took care of his children, he would do anything for his children.
“I know they’re going through some difficulties. But I’m shocked it’s gone this far.”
Christian, whose condition is reported to be stable, spoke to local channel KSTU and described the moments that led to the tragedy.
“I probably didn’t realize he was shooting at me until the second or third bullet hit me,” Christian said. “At that point it was just a matter of taking cover and getting him away from my family.”
