Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025: Francesca McGhie – the ballerina who became Scotland’s hero

It wasn’t Rugby McGhie’s first love.
He was a dance passion, and as a ballet and contemporary dancer, his talents won him a place at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland.
This agile foot work would serve him well in his final call as a rugby player, but until 2018, he did not play a 15 -year -old.
The following year he joined Watsonians and helped the club’s title in 2023 Premiership.
In the same year, he called for the first Scotland and announced himself with a striking trial about the victory over Ireland at the test Arena, which was nominated for the World Rugby’s Atılım Award for the Year.
McGhie proved to be a player for a big situation.
This year’s six countries made a final match against Ireland and made Hat Trick against Wales in 23 games to 13.
“When you put Fran Mcghie in space, God, what’s the finish,” Scotland’s head coach Bryan Easson said to BBC Scotland after the win on Saturday.
“I told him he’d get a few scores this morning, but I said to him part -time, ‘Come on, that’s not enough’.
“One -to -one, I don’t think he’s better in the world. Of course, a first -class ending.”
