‘Work out our problems through diplomacy and dialogue’

After Saturday’s attack, Iranian-American Farah Mokhtareizadeh in Louisville became even more frightened.
“We are afraid of what might happen, we are horrified because I do not believe that the leaders of this country or of Israel have the best interests of their people or the interests of the Iranian people at heart,” Mokhtareizadeh said.
In Iran, communication is limited to friends and family, Mokhtareizadeh said. He said internet access was limited and it was not safe to talk about political issues on the phone.
He said it was a “very complicated feeling” because he disagreed with what the regime had done for more than 40 years, but he believed American tax revenues were better spent in the states.
“We can solve our problems not through killing, violence and brutality, but through diplomacy and dialogue,” Mokhtareizadeh said. he said. “It won’t create a peaceful Middle East, and it won’t create a peaceful United States or Israel.”
WHAS11 heard from Iranian Americans in Kentuckiana on Saturday who celebrated the action and thanked those who carried it out for overthrowing their dictator.
