Swindon woman whose death sparked murder inquiry named as Sarah Forrester | UK news

A woman whose death sparked a murder investigation has been named by police.

Sarah Forrester, 55, a mental health counselor, died following the incident at a house in Moredon, Swindon, on Friday evening.

The 13-year-old girl, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, was later released on police bail.

Wiltshire Police said officers responded to reports of disorder at the mid-terrace property in Baydon Close. Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they found Forrester not breathing and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

While intense security measures have been taken by the police in the region, the investigation continues.

DCI Guy Elkins said in a statement on Sunday: “Our thoughts are with Sarah’s friends and family at this difficult time.

“The investigation into his death is being carried out by our major crime investigation team and local residents will continue to see increased police activity in the area.

“The 13-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail and I can confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with Sarah’s death. “We continue to urge people not to speculate about the incident.

“We encourage anyone with concerns to speak with their local neighborhood policing team by emailing or reaching out to our officers in person.”

A statement from the Swindon-based mental health charity Kelly Foundation, where Forrester worked, said everyone was “heartbroken by the sudden loss of our lovely Sarah”.

He added: “She was completely devoted to charity and dedicated to her two young children.

“Sarah played a pivotal role in our work at the Kelly Foundation and her loss is an extremely traumatic event, not only for us and her colleagues, but especially for her children and family.

“Sarah was an incredible person, kind, thoughtful, considerate, compassionate and fun, and she embodied everything we hope our philanthropy is and can be.

“He enjoyed his role with us and we all loved working with him, we will really miss him.

“Out of respect for his family, we will not be commenting further at this time.”

The foundation was established in memory of BBC Radio Wiltshire presenter Kelly Jobanputra, who committed suicide in 2019.
