‘World’s smartest man’ claims he can prove God’s existence with maths

A man billed as the world’s smartest has sparked global controversy after claiming he could prove the existence of God using only mathematics.
YoungHoon Kim, a 36-year-old South Korean artificial intelligence (AI) researcher who said he holds the world record for the highest IQ with 276, recognized by the World Mind Sports Council, explained that logic and numbers directly point to a divine creator.
Posting online, Kim wrote: “God is 100 percent real and Jesus is God.”
He also claimed that belief in Jesus was closely linked to intelligence, creativity, and success; This statement aroused both admiration and fierce criticism.
Kim recently released a video outlining what he calls a simple mathematical argument for the existence of God.
He said: “Think of drawing a line on a piece of paper. In geometry, every line must begin with at least one point. Without this first point, there is no line.”
He continued: “The same goes for existence. If there were no starting point, nothing could begin.
“But we clearly see that life and the universe exist. So there must be an initial point, a starting point, that sets everything in motion.”
Who suggests that this “first point” is God; This claim echoes classical philosophical ideas such as “first cause” or “first mover” that have been debated by theologians and scientists for centuries.
But critics say his reasoning is more philosophical than mathematical proof and does not resolve rival explanations such as the Big Bang or quantum cosmology.
Kim is not alone in associating extreme intelligence with spiritual consequences.
American Chris Langan, a former horse farmer whose IQ is estimated at between 190 and 210, has long claimed to understand what happens after death.
He developed the Cognitive-Theoretical Model of the Universe, which proposes that reality and consciousness are deeply connected.
Langan believes that death is a transition, not an end. Kim echoed this view, saying: “If reality is part of something larger, then death is not an end, but a transition.”
While neuroscience suggests that consciousness ends when the brain stops functioning, Kim argues that quantum physics offers another possibility.
He said: “Quantum physics suggests that information is never lost, it just changes form. If our consciousness is quantum information, it can continue after the body is gone.”
Kim also made the boldest claim yet about Jesus: “After Jesus’ resurrection, he did not return as a person; instead, he returned as a completely new being, wiser than anything in the world.
“There is no Einstein. There is no Newton. The smartest man in the history of the world is only Jesus.”
