Matcha, Doritos-inspired cheesy jalapeño among Coles’ bizarre hot cross bun flavour line-up coming to stores before Easter

The whimsical hot cross buns will be available in Coles stores ahead of Easter, with Doritos-inspired cheesy jalapeño, matcha and raspberry hot cross buns forming part of the 2026 flavor profile.
Arnott’s mint slice hot cross bun and sticky date hot cross bun are also part of the “mouthwatering creations”, Coles said in a statement on Tuesday.
Cheesy jalapeño hot cross buns are infused with cheese, Doritos-inspired spices, jalapeños, and tomato granules for a nacho-inspired fiesta.
Matcha and raspberry hot cross buns are blended with earthy matcha, white chocolate, and raspberry-flavored toffee pieces.

Arnott’s mint slice hot cross bun is filled with chocolate chips and mint flavored toffee pieces in a rich chocolate batter to reimagine Arnott’s iconic Peppermint Slice.
Coles’ Easter sticky date hot buns are also part of a new range of flavors made with chewy date pieces and caramel-flavored crisps.

Limited additional flavors will be available in all Coles stores and online from February over the Easter period for $5.50 for a four-pack.
Brad Gorman, General Manager Commercial, Bakery, Dairy and Frozen at Coles, says the development team spent more than a year creating this year’s range, “blending classics with bold new innovations”.

For those who love traditional flavors, classic fruit, apple cinnamon, fruitless and chocolate varieties will be on sale again.
“Australians show how much they love hot cross buns every Easter, and this year we’re going bigger than ever,” Mr Gorman said.
“Whatever your taste, there’s a hot cross bun for everyone at Coles this Easter.” he said.
