Yoga can help people get better sleep

Yoga helps people sleep better.
A study in China found that the mild exercise forms, including Tai Chi, walk and jogging, could enable people to sleep for two more hours, and that it was particularly useful for those suffering from insomnia.
Scientists examined 22 trials with 1,348 patients and 13 different measures to increase sleep, and yoga resulted in an increase of approximately two hours during sleep time and reduced the amount of awake time after falling asleep.
Both walking and running reduced the severity of insomnia, and Tai Chi was discovered, which improved sleep quality.
Researchers say that these exercises are “suitable” for recommendations for patients due to low costs and minimal side effects.
Experts explained: “The findings of this study underline the therapeutic potential of exercise interventions in the treatment of insomnia.
“Considering the advantages of exercise methods such as yoga, tai chi and hiking or jogging – including low cost, minimal side effects and high accessibility – these interventions are very suitable for integration into primary and community health programs.”
