Wildfires rage in Spain and Portugal as heatwave continues

Thousands of firefighters fought with great flames in Spain and Portugal on Saturday, because a portion of Southern Europe was held by a heat wave.

Spain’s National Weather Agency Aemet said that on Saturday, temperatures exceeded 44C in various places and warned that “the whole country in the whole country”.

The flames in Spain have ruined more than 1,500 km2 (more than 579 km2) and seven people were killed.

A wave of heat, this week’s roasting of Southern Europe and asked for forest fires in Spain, Portugal, Greece, France and the Balkans.
