Yorkshire water announces hosepipe ban after hot and dry weather | UK | News

Yorkshire Water announced a Hosepipe ban after an extraordinary dry and hot spring. The ban will come into force on Friday, that is, people will no longer be allowed to irrigate their gardens or wash their cars.

  • Filling or maintaining a domestic pond or ornamental fountain using a hosepipe

  • Walls or Windows of Local Facilities using Hosepipe

  • Cleaning ways or verandas using Hosepipe

  • Cleaning other artificial open surfaces using Hosepipe

However, businesses are allowed to use a Hosepipe for commercial purposes.

Those with blue badges and those in Yorkshire Water’s priority services will be exempted from the prohibition. People in the water tariff for medical reasons will also be exempted.
