Left-wing podcaster celebrates how Mamdani victory enrages ‘crusty’ White people

Left-wing podcast host Jennifer Welch expressed her joy at the election of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, saying it was a sign of a turning political tide against the White conservatives she grew up with.
Welch made headlines for far-left rhetoric, such as laughing when he saw an activist celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk and arguing that the Democratic Party should appeal to such voters. He has also repeatedly expressed disdain for the conservative White Christian Americans he grew up with.
On Tuesday night, he was asked by former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan about growing up among the Republican clubs in Oklahoma.
“What was their reaction tonight to this Brown dude from Africa becoming mayor of the Big Apple?” he asked.

“This is their worst nightmare,” he said in images published on the website. Zeteo YouTube channel.
Anand Giridharadas, journalist and frequent guest on MSNBC, laughed at her comment.
“They go crazy. When white country club Republicans see educated, brown-skinned people like y’all and Zohran, it’s a threat to the privileged position that they have, and they see that as un-American, and they see that as an attack on their way of life,” he continued.
Welch argued that Republicans are using the same playbook against Mamdani that they are currently using against him, noting what white conservatives experienced throughout Barack Obama’s presidency. He said Mamdani helped make multiculturalism mainstream.
“If it was just white people here right now, it would be boring. I grew up in those circles,” Welch said. “Everyone needs some spice and color in their life. Life is so much better. And that’s the great thing about America. Americans have no culture except multiculturalism.”
“Well said,” said Hasan.

“And we need to teach people how to embrace that,” Welch continued, appearing to refer to White Americans. “These cranky white people need to learn how to embrace that, because that’s what they do when they choose their entertainment, and they need it when they start electing representatives.”
Hasan said Mamdani is everything Republicans accuse Obama of.
“As I mentioned earlier today, he is everything Obama says he is but is not. He is actually an African Muslim socialist. This will break their minds,” he said.
