When US President Donald Trump was asked whether the US would participate in the conflict, Iran and Israel continued to attack each other on Wednesday night, as I said, “I can do this, I can not.”

BBC experts and reporters answer your questions about what happens and what may happen if the conflict increases.

Why is Israel bombing Iran?

Israel’s position is that in the last few months, Iran believes that Iran has accelerated to build a nuclear weapon, and that negotiations to prevent Iran’s nuclear program did not go anywhere and therefore this is the last resort.

They said they had seen an existential threat from Iran and claimed that Iran had previously promised to destroy the Israeli state if Iran had bought a nuclear weapon.

Iran does not have to be a view that is close to building a nuclear weapon, shared by the rest of the region, and it does not have to be shared by the international atomic energy agency, nor is it shared by the latest open source report that does not say that it is about to produce nuclear weapons by the US intelligence.

Where can civilians in Iran go?

The Israeli Defense Forces have published some evacuation notifications for some parts of the capital Tehran, but these areas are extremely dense and highly populated.

The images of the big traffic congestion, the enormous automobile lines we saw while trying to escape from the northern part where Tehran thought it was safe to the northern part of the country.

But there were strikes in these areas. Since targets are very common by Israel, no field is safe.

In Tehran, the government announced that they have opened the metro stations 24 hours a day for people to shelter.

Tehran has 10 million people, so you can dream of evacuating that the number of people is not really possible.

If we get into conflict, will Iran hit us goals?

There is absolutely risk and the results are very important for the US.

There are about 40,000 to 50,000 US soldiers in 19 places in the Middle East. Cyprus -based US personnel and a US maritime facility in Bahrain.

Everything will depend on how the US decides to join and to what extent.

Can Iran’s deputies support in conflict with Israel?

I don’t think so – not anymore.

Since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, Israel systematically took over most of Iran’s first line of defense.

They consumed Hamas in Gaza, they largely consumed Hezbollah’s arsenal in Lebanon, and Syria is no longer the ally of Iran because Bashar Assad was dismissed by Israel, but was dismissed.

Meanwhile, Houthis is relatively restricted in Yemen. So they’re not very good coordinated.

Who is the leader of Iran and how much support?

Iran’s highest leader is Ali Khanenei. A religious figure, but Iran has much more power than the president.

He is the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces and is a decision maker for the country, including the US and negotiations.

But it does not rule the support of all Iran – the people are divided and this division deepens.

Iran witnessed great protests against the regime only two years ago. Women participated in these protests and demanded their rights and freedoms.

However, we cannot ignore that this regime is still supporters – including the armed forces connected to the regime.

What happens if the regime is overthrown in Iran?

There is no clear answer.

For the last few years, we have seen that there is no united opposition to change the government together.

Currently, there are different options, including Reza Pahlavi, the son of the exile of the former Shah, who is currently living abroad.

There are supporters in and outside Iran, but how many can not say.

There are also competitors, including reformers. They may not want to go back to Iran’s monarchy, which was overthrown about 40 years ago.

So it’s not clear whether it’s a backup.

Where and what is Fordo?

Fordo is one of the two critical enrichment facilities of Iran, south of 200km (124 miles) of Tehran.

It was built on a mountain for protection. And basically it is one of Iran’s basic enrichment facilities to increase the enriched uranium stock.

Fordo was already shot by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). However, it is believed that attacks to make it more vulnerable after Iran’s surface-havaya missiles and surrounding air defense capabilities.

How close is Iran to get a nuclear bomb?

The only person who knows that Iran is working to build a nuclear bomb is the most reliable nuclear scientists of Iran, the inner core of the security officials and the Supreme Leading itself. The rest is assumption.

However, at the beginning of this month, the alarm found that the UN’s nuclear guard dog IAEA violated Iran’s obligations that have not been released for the first time in nearly 20 years. Iran has collected approximately 400 kg of uranium enriched to 60%, far beyond the level required for civilian nuclear purposes.

The UN Agency said Iran could not fully cooperate and that nuclear materials could not confirm that nuclear weapons were not deflected. Nevertheless, it is not the same as to mention that Iran is competing to build a bomb.

The Israeli army said last week that “intelligence in the last few months has shown that Iran is closer than ever to get nuclear weapons.”

But whose intelligence? Apparently, the closest ally. In March, US National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard told the Congress that he did not build a nuclear weapon while “Iran’s wife had an unprecedented arms class uranium stock.”

Meanwhile, Iran has always claimed that the nuclear program was completely peaceful.

Is Israel have nuclear weapons?

They have estimates that they have about 90 nuclear war titles. But we don’t know the real answer.

Nuclear neither confirmed nor rejected a nuclear ability,

Israel is not part of the nuclear nuclear release treaty, a global agreement to prevent more countries from buying bombs.

Having a nuclear weapon requires three components: the first, the uranium is enriched to 90%, the second, the ability to build a war title, and the third is a way to deliver this war title to a goal.

As it stops, there is no clear declaration by Israel in any of the above.
