Donald Trump makes huge UK tariff move thanks to King Charles – ‘Hardly even asked!’ | Royal | News

He added: “The King and Queen made me do something no one else could do, without even asking! It’s a wonderful honor to have them both in the USA.” Mr Trump’s full message was: “In honor of the King and Queen of the United Kingdom who have just left the White House and returned to their wonderful country, I will lift the Whiskey Tariffs and Restrictions, which relate to Scotland being able to work with the Commonwealth of Kentucky on Whiskey and Bourbon, two very important industries in Scotland and Kentucky.”
“People have wanted to do this for a long time because there was a huge trade between countries, especially the Wooden Barrels used.
“The King and Queen made me do something no one else could do, without even asking! It’s a great honor to have them both in DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States.”
Earlier today, Mr Trump hailed Charles as “the greatest king in my book” as he bid farewell to royal guests at the White House.
The King and Queen wrapped up their “whistling great” US state visit by bidding farewell to the President and First Lady and attending a traditional block party in Virginia.
In Washington, as the two couples bid a warm farewell in front of the South Portico of the White House, Mr. Trump told the media as he posed for the final photo: “He’s a great king, the greatest king in my book.”
US reporters then took the opportunity to ask Charles a question. The King, unaccustomed to being heckled by the media, hesitated before the President intervened and said: “We’ll talk later.”
The four then went inside briefly and came out minutes later, chatting animatedly once again.
There were handshakes, more kisses goodbye, and as the King’s car drove away, Mr. Trump pointed and said: “They’re really great people. We need more people like that in our country.”
