YouTube begins push against teen social media ban

YouTube has rented the world’s most valuable billboard – the Google search homepage – to promote how young Australians are using YouTube to defy Australia’s youth social media ban.

The decision by YouTube owner Google to highlight the video platform’s “children’s experiences” on a web page visited billions of times by Australians each year comes after Google refused to comment on whether it had consulted one of the country’s most prominent legal academics for advice on the ban.
