Adivasi JAC Wants Removal Of ASR DMHO Over Harassment

VISAKHAPATNAM: Adivasi JAC leaders in ASR district have criticized collector AS Dinesh Kumar for harassing lower-level employees in education and medical departments, especially tribal women, Dr. D. Krishnamurthy demanded to dismiss Nayak immediately.

In the complaint, ASR region Adivasi JAC president Rama Rao Dora, Dr. He alleged that Nayak continued to harass staff after taking over as DMHO of Alluri Sitharama Raju district despite being suspended three times for misbehavior in his previous assignments.

Speaking to the media, Rama Rao Dora, Dr. He said the allegations against Nayak included harassment of female staff working in remote areas, threats to family members and making objectionable phone calls. Staff members say the DMHO discourages female staff from being accompanied by relatives on night duties.

Adivasi leaders argue that such behavior undermines medical services in tribal areas where doctors are already scarce. They demanded stringent departmental, criminal and SC/ST atrocity cases against the two officers.

Among those who filed the complaint were state-level Adivasi JAC leaders Budide Madhav Rao and Manuguri Babuji. They argued that corrupt officials or those facing accusations or misconduct should not be appointed to areas of the agency that rely heavily on government service.
