Zia Yusuf pledges British version of Trump’s ICE for mass deportations | UK | News

Zia Yusuf will today unveil sweeping proposals to stop small boats crossing the Channel, destroy knife crime gangs and root out Islamist extremism as Reform Britain’s new home affairs spokesman.

The party member is expected to describe immigration as a “national security emergency” when he addresses supporters in Dover, Kent, on Monday.

He will argue that both major parties have “turned the other way as the fabric of our society is under attack.”

British Ice style agency to lift 300,000 people a year

Central to his vision is creating a domestic version of America’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement – the polarizing US agency known as Ice.

A new UK Deportation Command will be able to detain 24,000 illegal immigrants at any one time and deport around 300,000 people each year.

Former military facilities will serve as temporary detention centers before deportation flights leave the country. The party estimates that these converted bases could be operational for 24,000 detainees within a year and a half, which would require an investment of £2.5 billion.

According to the proposals, the number of daily deportation flights will increase to five.

Mr Yusuf said: “As a result of our mass deportation programme, a Reform government would deliver net negative immigration.”

Indefinite Leave to Remain

According to The Sun, other measures on the table include completely canceling Indefinite Leave to Remain status, cutting benefits for foreign nationals and freezing visas to countries that won’t readmit their own citizens.

Tackling extremism would lead to the Muslim Brotherhood being outlawed and the counter-terrorism plan being overhauled to address “real threats”.

Mr Yusuf will pledge to “protect Britain’s Christian heritage” and prevent churches from being converted into mosques.

Turning to law enforcement, he will insist that police stop producing TikTok content and driving cars with Pride emblems and instead focus on arresting criminals.

Stronger stop and search legislation, combined with intense neighborhood patrols, will form the response to Britain’s knife crime epidemic.

It will also announce prison construction on an unprecedented scale; It will build new facilities “at the fastest pace of our lives.”

Three countries face visa freeze threat

Countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan and Syria will face UK visa bans if they do not cooperate with deportation requests, The Times reported.

Shabana Mahmood threatened similar action against Angola, Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo in November as part of Labour’s fight against illegal immigration, warning governments that the UK would deny entry to their citizens without better cooperation on returns.

Culture wars and extremism dominate the agenda

Now all three are on the table, but Youssef will accuse Labor of only threatening to impose a visa ban on “a handful of African countries that account for a very small proportion of illegal immigrants”.

He will argue that countries with significantly higher numbers of illegal immigrants (Pakistan, Somalia, Eritrea, Syria, Afghanistan and Sudan) will instead become targets of Reformation.

Official statistics show that Pakistani citizens feature prominently among those whose visas have expired.

Ahead of his speech on Saturday, Youssef said: “As home secretary I will use every tool of the state to deport all illegal immigrants from the UK, including a visa ban on countries that refuse to take back illegal immigrants.

“Other countries will be announced soon. Reform will finally do whatever it takes to secure our borders, uphold the rule of law and put the British people first.”

Today’s speech will introduce additional policies that build on the party’s recent pledge to ban the Muslim Brotherhood, encompassing what Reform describes as “protecting British culture” and adopting a “zero tolerance” position on Islamist extremism.

Labor said yesterday that Britain was a “proud, tolerant and diverse nation” that opposed “the divisive policies fueled by the Reformation”.
