Adams denies being offered Trump job in exchange for quitting mayoral race | New York
New York Mayor Eric Adams refused to talk with Donald Trump about re -election campaign to give a government job.

New York Times reported Donald Trump’s advisors “discussed the possibility of giving Adams a position to Adams to prevent the political ambitions of the 33 -year -old democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, who will now be elected Mayor in November.
According to Times, for Trump, “intermediaries” talked with Adams’s “partners” from leaving the race. Adams, who proves that New York is not deeply popular among democratic voters and works as an independent candidate, follows Mamdani in surveys and empties the support of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
If Adams, a centralist democrat, and the Republican Candidate Curtis Sliwa, there is a suggestion that Cuomo can reinforce enough support to challenge Mamdani. The New York Times reported that Sliwa had negotiations to find a job to get him out of the race under Trump.
Adams spokesman Todd Shapiro said, “Mayor Adams said he would not answer every rumor.”
“Mayor Donald Trump did not discuss the Mayor’s race.
“Records are open: the crime fell, things are over and constantly stood up for families working. Mayor Adams focused on this progress and winning four years to continue to surrender to the New York people.”
Sliwa told Politico that he did not speak to the White House and still wouldn’t want a job.
“I have not been contacted by the White House and I am not interested in a White House,” he said.
“My focus is here in New York. I am the only candidate on a large party line that can defeat Mamdani and I am determined to carry this fight to the election day. The New York people really care about a mayor who cares about.”
Meanwhile, Mamdani was eager to underline the relationship between Trump, who was deeply popular in the real Blue New York.
“Today’s news confirms this: Cuomo is the election for Trump’s mayor. White House, Adams and Sliwa think of cleaning the field, X he wrote.
A survey conducted on Tuesday found Adams with 9% of the votes in the election – Mamdani was 42%, Cuomo 26% and Sliwa 17%.
