In the last three years (2022-23 to 2024-25), Tamil Nadu Forest Department, other government offices, NGOs and the public has been erected 10.86 crore seedlings throughout the state. In the Cuddalore region, approximately 54.25 Lakh seedlings were erected through the participation of various stakeholders.

The government launched the TN-Shore/Tamil Nadu coastal restoration mission, financed by the World Bank to restore 160 hectares of broken mangrvlar through the Village Mangrov Councils (VMCs).
