11-metre-high Trojan Horse marks world premiere of The Odyssey | UK | News

A huge Trojan Horse appeared in Trafalgar Square overnight ahead of the release of Christopher Nolan’s new movie Odyssey.
The 11-metre-high structure is built on a sand foundation beneath Nelson’s Column, among the bronze lions and fountains in the square, transforming one of London’s best-known landmarks into a dramatic film-themed exhibition.
The attraction is on display after it appears Odyssey world premiere.
The statue, which weighs approximately four tons, was built in six weeks in a project involving 45 designers, steelworkers, fabricators and engineers. Organizers said it took around 300 man hours to build before it was transported to central London and put into place overnight.
The horse was built in Cardiff and traveled more than 450 miles to the capital.
Made from steel, fiberglass, polystyrene, sand and resin, the horse is designed to resemble the weathered wooden horse used by the Greeks in Nolan’s upcoming epic action epic inspired by Homer’s classic tale.

Alongside the installation, visitors will also be able to view film footage and behind-the-scenes photos, as well as a corridor of burning torches inspired by the film.
