12.38 lakh tonnes paddy purchased from 1.54 lakh ryots so far, ₹1,129 crore paid

The Telangana Civil Supplies Department has purchased 12.38 lakh tonnes of paddy produced so far in the Rabi season, despite plans to purchase around 90 lakh tonnes. 1,129.43 crore as Minimum Support Price (MSP) payments to farmers is being paid directly into the bank accounts of over 1.54 lakh farmers.

According to Civil Supplies Commissioner M. Stephen Ravindra, the ministry is working at full capacity across the State to handle the flow of paddy. Currently, a network of 8,575 Paddy Purchasing Centers (PPCs) is actively purchasing paddy from growers.
