15yo student tasered and arrested at North Sydney Boys High after knife incident

A 15-year-old student who allegedly left the classroom at North Sydney Boys’ High School with a knife was tasered and taken into custody.

A NSW police spokesman said police were called to a high school on Falcon St in North Sydney at around 12.40pm on Thursday following reports that a student was carrying a knife.

“Officers from North Shore Police Area Command attended and were told there had been a fight between two students in the classroom before one of the students left with a knife,” the spokesman said.

The school was quarantined while the police searched for the young man.

He was eventually located by police, who subdued him with a stun gun before arresting him.

The student was hospitalized and the quarantine was lifted just after 1:30 p.m.

A NSW Department of Education spokesperson confirmed the quarantine was implemented “as a precaution”.

“All students and staff are safe and students continued classes after 1.30pm,” the spokesman said.

Police reported that their investigations into the matter are continuing.
