17yo girl killed in horror hit-and-run in Margate, Queensland

A 17-year-old girl has died after being struck by a ute in a hit-and-run incident north of Brisbane.

The teenager was hit by a car, believed to be a white ute, on Margate Pde in Margate shortly before 11.30pm on Monday.

Police stated that the vehicle fled the scene after the collision.

The 17-year-old young man, who was seriously injured, died at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area, including Margate Pde and Mabel St, at the time of the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
