2 attorneys shot outside courthouse after civil court case ends
A woman who became “combative in court” allegedly shot two lawyers involved in the case outside a North Carolina courthouse after the case ended Friday morning, according to Raleigh Police Chief Rico Boyce.
According to the town of Rolesville, the two victims were attorneys representing the town of Rolesville as part of a civil lawsuit against the alleged attacker.
Police identified the suspect as 57-year-old Gwendolyn White. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Attempted murder charges are pending, according to police.
Police did not say what the civil case was about.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the shooting happened in front of the Old Wake County Courthouse just after 10:30 a.m. Friday.
After the hearing ended, the suspect left the courthouse and returned to the courthouse in his car. The suspect then got out of the vehicle, approached the two victims and shot them both, Boyce said at a news conference Friday.
“When deputies and police officers exited the courthouse, they encountered an adult female with a gun in her hand. That female was taken into custody,” Boyce said. he said.
Police also found two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

The victims were transported to a local hospital and their medical conditions are unknown at this time, according to Boyce.
“There was a case here in the old courthouse on the 10th floor that involved all parties,” Boyce said. “The suspect in this case became aggressive in court.”

Both Wake County courthouses are closed for the rest of the day, according to police.
