2 Vehicle Lifters Held, 15 Bikes Recovered

Prakasam district police busted an inter-district motorcycle theft racket by arresting two accused, arresting a law-breaking juvenile and recovering 15 stolen motorcycles worth around Rs 15 lakh.
This breakthrough came during the investigation into the theft of TVS Radeon reported at Chimakurthy police station by 72-year-old Inkollu Polireddy of P. Naidupalem village. Police found an iron bar and a wooden stick at the scene and suspected that the defendant was carrying these to attack the owner if he woke up.
A special team under the supervision of Prakasam superintendent of police V. Harshavardhan Raju arrested the accused near Manchikalapadu Junction on Thursday after technical surveillance and investigation.
The arrested were identified as Devarakonda Dinesh Kumar (23) from Kolachanakota village in Maddipadu mandal and Kalupukuri Sharath Babu (20) from Kopperapadu village in Ballikurava mandal. It was stated that the recovered vehicles were linked to theft cases registered at Chimakurthy, Maddipadu, Singarayakonda, Tangutur, Martur, Kothapeta, Darsi and Ballikurava police stations. The accused were also found to be involved in a theft attempt at the Anjaneya Swamy temple in Bandlamudi village.
The police chief praised the investigation team for quickly solving the case and recovering the stolen vehicles.
