A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said they deployed four devices at the scene after the call came in.

They add: “At 1.40pm on Thursday 13 November four fire engines from Bolton Central, Eccles and Atherton fire stations and the technical rescue unit from Leigh fire station were called to reports of a helicopter making an emergency landing at a field off Kilworth Drive in Lostock.

“Firefighters, along with their partners, secured the plane and the surrounding area and were there for approximately 45 minutes.”
