20-year-old girl takes own life in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming poison in Venkatadri Colony in Badagpet, within the limits of Meerpet police station in Hyderabad, following the sudden death of the cat she had adopted.

While the police launched an investigation into the incident, the body was sent for autopsy. Further investigation is ongoing.

According to Meerpet Police Station Inspector Shankar Kumar, “A 20-year-old undergraduate student named Himabindu committed suicide by consuming poison yesterday following the sudden death of the cat she had adopted. The body was sent for post-mortem and handed over to her family. A case has been registered and the matter is under investigation.”
