21 Young Archers From Odisha’s Kalahandi qualify for State Open Archery Meet 2025

Lanjigarh: In A Significant Boost to Grassroots Sports in Odisha’s Tribal-Dominated Kalahandi District, 21 Young Archers –12 Boys and 9 Girls-Have Secureed Berths At the upcoming 26th Odisha State Open ARCHERY MEET 2025. District-Level Trials Held Recender

The participants withdrew from rural and tribal history competed throughout the Indian tour, compound and recurrent categories. Half of the 40 competitors won their place at the state -level event and underlined the promise of archery in this relatively remote region.

The Sports Training Program at Lanjigarh, which was launched in 2018, is groating young talents in archery and athletics with the help of professional coaching, modern equipment, nutritional support and exposure to competitive activities. Currently, 80 students receive structured training – in 40 archery and 40 athletics – more than 300 young programs from the region for years.

The initiative has already begun to give results: in only 2024-25 season, the trainees obtained 37 medals in the state-level competitions, more than 20 representations in national activities and a medal in the second Jan Jatiya Khel Mahotsav.
