The Army Public School (APS) at the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Center has established a chapter of the Interact Club, the youngest wing of Rotary International.

MLIRC Commandant and APS MLIRC Chairman Brigadier Joydeep Mukherjee inaugurated the club and inducted the officers.

He described it as a movement to foster community service and leadership among his students. He said he was pleased to participate in the initiative, and congratulated the newly-elected members. He emphasized that such platforms are vital in shaping the character of young citizens.

25 students joined the club at the event held in the school building.

The initiative was sponsored by Rotary Club of South Belgaum. They said this opens a new chapter in the school’s commitment to social responsibility.

Govind Misale, President of South Belgaum Rotary Club, welcomed the chief guest and initiated the formal proceedings of the charter. Student members pledged to support Rotary’s motto of ‘Service Above Self’.

The new Interact Club has been designed to work alongside the school’s existing Community Outreach programme, Vidyanjali, to provide students with a structured orientation to contribute to social well-being.
