In a shocking incident that took place in Barabanki of Uttar Pradesh, a 25-year-old woman died after a ‘fake’ doctor operated on her after watching a YouTube video. According to the information obtained, the woman, identified as Munishra, went to an ‘unauthorised’ clinic, ‘Shri Damodar Aushadhalya’, near her home in Barabanki. The doctor diagnosed him with stones in his gallbladder. He recommended him for kidney stone surgery.

On December 5, Prakash suggested a surgery for Rs 25,000, which was later fixed at Rs 20,000. His family and wife Fateh Bahadur claimed that the doctor performed the surgery the next day, relying on the video he watched on YouTube. It was claimed that the doctor was drunk during the stone removal surgery. It severed several nerves in the woman’s stomach, small intestine and esophagus. This led to her death due to extreme pain, and she was survived by her husband and three young children.

Fateh Bahadur filed a criminal complaint against the doctor. While the police were sent to the clinic, the woman’s body was sent for autopsy. Police said the medical team found that the doctor was a quack and that his clinic was not registered with the Ministry of Health.

A case has been registered against Gyan Prakash Mishra, the doctor who helped him in the surgery, and his nephew Vivek Mishra on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and SC/ST Act charges. According to the police, they are both on the run.
