270 grams of suspected brown sugar seized from Assam youths in Kochi

Kochi City police seized a large quantity of narcotics and arrested four persons in separate raids as part of Operation Toofan Narco Hunt, a statewide anti-drug operation.
In the first operation, 270.51 grams of suspicious brown sugar was seized from two young people near SRM Road. The arrested are 31-year-old Monor Hussain and 21-year-old Ramjan Ali, both from Assam’s Nagaon city.
According to police, the duo is suspected to be key agents involved in smuggling large quantities of brown sugar from Assam.
In another operation, 4.74 grams of suspected MDMA was seized from Amarjeeth (29) of Edavanakkad in Ponevazhi, Elamakkara.
In a separate case, 3.6 grams of suspected MDMA was seized from Muhammad Yusuf (43) of Elamakkara near Pachalam Dar es Salaam Road.
The operations were carried out by the District Anti-Narcotics Special Operations Team.
