Asia-Pacific markets rebounded on Thursday, tracking gains on Wall Street after US President Donald Trump backed off his threat to impose tariffs on European countries over Greenland.
Trump also calmed nerves over possible US military action by saying at the World Economic Forum in Davos that he would not use force to seize the Arctic island.
The US President also said that together with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, he was “establishing the framework for a future agreement on Greenland”.
Asian markets are already showing signs of this recovery. South Korea’s kospi It led the gains in the region, rising over 2% to surpass the 5,000 mark, with small-cap Kosdaq gaining 1.29%.
